Introduction to Eyegaze systems There are now 3 major eyegaze systems which have been released for individual sale and do not require the user to wear anything on their head or body. These systems commonly use the direction of the eye's gaze to control a computer.

Who can use eyegaze and why

Designed for users with highly limited mobility. This includes those who have limited capabilities to move at all, but also those who have difficulties with involuntary movements of their head.

Examples of conditions

  • MND (Motor Neurone Disease also known as ALS, Lou Gehrig’s disease and Charcot’s disease)
  • Spinal cord injury
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Multiple Sclerosis (visual problems sometimes mean this system can't be used).
  • Brain injury
