Well I did not arrive here by mistake I arrived here in order to satisfy my curiosity.

Great! Welcome. It was called about OATS as when I installed wiki I said the wiki should be called OATS. The real deal would be called ITCH I guess.

Now that I have arrived at what was a blank page I am at a loss.

Why were you at a loss and did not just 'Save Page'? What were you wanting to do? Did you see the The Wiki Way and the Sandpit pages?

I went to view the other tabs and when I returned I found that all the text I had written had disappeared from this page. That was less than helpful.

I agree but remember this is a web interface and the tabs really just take you another webpage. When you selected edit again it thought you were going there for the first time as it has no memory. If you had used the browser back button though you would have found your text back there. You can always use the shift-click trick to open page in a new window.

I notice that the about tab opens a page that says there is no text on it. This of course is blatantly untrue because if there was no text on it I would not have been able to read it.

Ha. Well I guess it says that for newbies. I guess they should have used white text on white background ;-)

I can't find the emoticon for the :-) so I have to make do with the text version rather than the picture.

Wiki has low graphic noise which has avantage of being more accessible ;-) You can add graphics if so desired.

Note on page Recent Changes you can see you changes but it only shows you as an IP address. We will use user logins so a name would appear with links to contact them.

WikiSysop - I got this in by typing ~~~ which gets replaced by my name (well allmost).
