The Reading Pen is a portable small device that comes in a small case and can come out when difficult words are spotted on noticeboards or in text. It scans a word or a whole line from printed text and then displays it in large characters. It will read the word and then show or read a definition from the Oxford Concise Dictionary. It will also read the definition and offer synonyms.
If the user is left-handed it flips its display over.
It has an English voice, simple menu operation and enhanced scanning. It will display syllables, spell words letter-by-letter, read reversed out words -and even words split between two lines.
Ithas adjustable speech volume, speed and pitch. Batteries included
Contains over 240,000 entries and definitions from the Concise© Oxford English Dictionary, Oxford University press 2001. Retains a history of last 80 words scanned -for easy review.
