Talk:GoToAssist
From ITCH
Comments after demonstration
(Email sent to ITCH list after Brian showed me the system)
Last night Brian Green gave me a demonstration of the ITCH GotToAssist system for remote access to clients PCs. It provides a way to operate a PC from your home as long as they have a broadband connection up and running and a voice contact such as phone or VOIP.
This is a great way to ease your ITCH workload by cutting travelling time and even provides a 'greener' way to fix client problems. Client can use screen readers, with one small wrinkle.
Brian showed me both the user experience and the volunteer experience, both of which are straightforward to use. I've used similar remote access system and can say that this one is very easy to use and should be non intimidating for users. It's worth saying that you need to explain it clearly to clients and some may be unsure of how secure it is.
Brian has provided details on the ITCH WIki

and is happy to demonstrate it and provide you with access. He asks that we keep him informed let him know of planned usage as currently we only have one login.
GoToAssist should prove to be an invaluable tool for solving client your problems.
